And that’s not a small thing: people online will quite happily take a popular blog and imitate it (or even pirate it outright). But if your style is everywhere on your blog, they haven’t a chance of keeping it up longterm, since you were there first!

So yes, keep paying attention to the many things that go into a good blog. But remember that at the top of the heap is the words you write – those words that others read.
