Version 4.05 of ABTheme Is Ready

Finally ready, 4.05 is on the site and ready to use.

The main changes over 4.04?

  • Security. I’ve been doing some intensive reading about website security (mainly PHP), and the number of ways a site can be ‘peeled open’ like an orange is depressingly large. But on the bright side, I was able to sweep through ABTheme and make sure it was tight and seaworthy (and if anyone is worried, the only security issues were with shared theme designs, and are now fixed).
  • Theme flexibility. I’ve split design issues out from the rest of the blog settings, so when you share design ‘strings’, you’re only sharing the design, not other settings. It should make it much easier to give someone a blog ‘look’ without telling them also how they set up their blog articles display, what copyright year is set, etc
  • More theme settings. After listening to members, I’ve improved the theme design, so as to make it more flexible and more easily adapted to ‘look’ like others out there.
  • Various bugs. Fortunately, not too many, but they happened, and now they’ve been squashed – dead.

You can download the ABTheme from here, and use the free or paid version, as you wish. And check out ABTheme for the new themes as they appear.
