I’m going to let you in on a secret – if you are editing and reediting posts on your blog, you’re keeping revision copies of EVERY change you make!

For example, I often save a psot, then edit it later, and save again. Sometimes, I’ll make a change or two just because of spelling, and then save it.

With this week’s release of WP 2.6.5, you might be wondering where 2.6.4 went.

It didn’t – in fact, there will NEVER be a WordPress 2.6.4 – because there already was one!

Confusing I know, but the catch is that another site tried to release a WP 2.6.4 with some malware in it – and the result was that the official WP release number was bumped up to avoid any confusion.

A new version, unlike others – WP 2.6.5 hits the digital ’streets’ and it is worth an update.

It fixes some minor issues, but one major security one – a XSS (cross-site scripting exploit) issue. Because of that problem, it’s worth updating ASAP.
